RegisterFly.com

A really good service as a domain name registar. They also try to provide hosting, I tried, it sucks, but that's ok. Anyway, their primary service is great.

Of course, even in a good company there is some corporate nitwit who would force something stupid. So, here it is. I own a domain .com (let's not quote the actual domain, as it it irrelevant to the topic). They add to my control panel .info. I did not asked for that. I was never interested in it. They added it. Fine, their "live support" does not actually work well -- yeterday I waited for half an hour for somebody to pick it up, anyway. Now, .info is going to expire, so they start to spam me with reminders: ".INFO IS GOING TO EXPIRE!!!!! DON'T LET IT GO!!!!" they bombard me for almost a month now.

Guys, it's not my domain, I never wanted it... Fine, I filed an email support ticket to stop that, and today they send TWO REMINDERS IN ONE DAY! Oh, bliss of corporate stupidity... they probably thinks thay really care about the customer...

Dell order fullfillment

Just got this message from Dell:

Dear Valued Customer,We have reviewed your order. Although we had anticipated being able to ship your order sooner, we are experiencing an unexpected delay with your order NNNNNNNNN and will not be able to ship this order and any associated orders until on or before 09-16-2005.
· You will receive an Order Shipped email when this order has shipped. What’s Next?No action is required to proceed with the new date, however, if you do not wish to wait, you may cancel your order.· If you wish to cancel your order or if you have any questions, please click here

If I am so "valued", how about free expedite shipping as a token of real apology? And if you cannot afford that, how about not lying about when you will ship it? I could have bought it cheaper in other place.

Just letting the steam out...

Speaking seriously, this message looks like a joyous scream "Gotcha!" rather than an apology...

Added on 9-14-05: The notebook successfully arrived, they shipped it on time without any delays. So, I guess, the actual order fulfillment is not bad at all. Which leaves me wondering why did they sent that email in the first place...
